Larry Scola

Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Scola Custom Tile Inc. in Dunedin, Florida.  He held various jobs before moving to Florida including working on the railroad, Haney Barge Lines and at the Westland 2 Mine, where he was a member of the United Mine Workers Union.  He graduated from Canon McMillan High School in 1970, where he participated on several athletic teams and held the record for the discus from 1970 to 2014.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Larry loved playing his tuba and was a member of several bands including, Canon McMillan high school band, VFW band, Community Band and the Awesome Second Time Arounders Band in St. Petersburg Florida.

On August 16, 1983, he married his high school sweetheart, Kristine Miller Scola, who survives.

Larry was an avid fisherman and golfer.  He loved to grow flowers and plants of all kinds. He had an upbeat and optimistic spirit and was always ready to help people in need.

It is in Larry's honor that his wife, Kristine, helped develop the Larry Scola Equipment Donation for Hope Program.
